Sandy Posey (born June 18, 1944) is an American popular singer, who enjoyed success in the 1960s with singles such as her 1966 recording of Martha Sharpe's composition, 'Single Girl.' She is often described as a country singer, although, like Skeeter Davis (to whom she has been frequently compared) her output has varied. ... Sandy’s first public singing experience was at the tender age of five, she sang with her sister at her Grandpa Posey’s funeral. As fate would have it, Sandy moved to Memphis, Tennessee where some of the most famous singers and musicians were just beginning to make their mark on the world, beginning with the king of rock & roll, Elvis Presley. Read Sandy Posey's bio and find out more about Sandy Posey's songs, albums, and chart history. Get recommendations for other artists you'll love. Listen to music from Sandy Posey like Born A Woman, Single Girl & more. Find the latest tracks, albums, and images from Sandy Posey. Despite having several moderate hits in both the country and pop charts, Sandy Posey was never fully embraced by either audience and is far from being a household name. Posey was born in Jasper, Alabama, in 1944. In her teens she relocated to Memphis, where she secured a job as a receptionist in a local studio. Sandra Lou Posey Mini Bio (1) Her biography shows that she graduated from high school in Memphis, Tn. in 1962 but she actually went to and graduated from West Memphis High School in West Memphis, Arkansas in 1962 where she was a high school cheer leader and member of the West Memphis High School Home Coming Court.

2020.09.25 18:04 displacedindavis Every postseason game that was do-or-die for both teams aka Game 7's/Game 5's/etc. (yes, WC games included)

Games that are do-or-die for both teams. Either team loses, they're out, no more. It doesn't get much better than that. So much is on the line that there's just nothing to lose.
Let's take a look through history and see what we find. One thing I do want to point out: by winning run, I mean the one that was enough to overcome the amount of scoring the opposition did. So if a team won 7-1, the 2nd run the team scored would be the winning run.

2019.11.21 04:18 FermatsLastAccount The WAR leaders for position players and pitchers in each decade.

There was a post here about the top position playepitcher of each decade, so I decided to look at the top 10 in terms of WAR for each decade. Figured others would be interested as well. The source is Baseball Reference.
One of my favorite observations was how difficult it is to eclipse 80 WAR in a decade. Only Bonds has done it in the past 50 years and he just barely got past it. Then in the '60s both Mays and Aaron eclipsed it. Then in the '20s, not only did Ruth and Hornsby eclipse 80, but they also surpassed 90 by a wide margin. So no other player in the mdoern era surpassed 84.2 WAR in a season, but both Ruth and Hornsby surpassed 93 in the same season. David Cone coming in 3rd in the '90s and Juan Marichal leading the '60s over Koufax and Gibson was also shocking.
